Breakwater Dispensary opened its doors in 2015, making us among the first six dispensaries in New Jersey. Since our inception, our goal has been to sustain a safe and inviting space for our guests to explore cannabis. As a proud local, independent grower, it is our uncompromising commitment to provide the highest quality cannabis products and guest services in New Jersey. Having grown our roots deeply in the medicinal cannabis program, we have witnessed how life-changing reliable access to quality cannabis and cannabis education can be.
We are seeking kind, compassionate, and people-focused budtenders to help us deliver an enlightening, supportive, and engaging experience to our patients. A budtender at Breakwater should be outgoing, patient, and motivated to create a safe and healing environment for patients with varying levels of cannabis knowledge (from novice user to connoisseur). The right person for this role is someone who can show great aptitude for learning about cannabis, strong attention to detail, and is public-spirited. This role entails gaining and maintaining a deep knowledge of Breakwater's products, listening to and communicating with patients about their symptoms and needs, working at a fast pace while being accurate in handling cash, and operating in compliance with the New Jersey Medical Marijuana Program rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable experience for new and existing Breakwater patients
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of Breakwater's products and their therapeutic benefits
  • Be able to communicate product knowledge to patients and schedule consultations as needed
  • Handle cash and complete transactions with accuracy
  • Verify and submit patient's prescription information accurately
  • Clearly communicate and answer questions for patients
  • Maintain patient profiles with up to date information
  • Assist patients with completing their paperwork
  • Maintain a clean and stocked workstation
  • Clean and maintain high-touch areas of the dispensary such as work stations, wheelchairs, and counter spaces
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Engage in continuous education and training

Requirements
Requirements:
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for cannabis!
  • Customer service experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments
  • Cash handling experience
  • Passion for working with people and excellent communications skills
  • Ability to learn and retain detailed product knowledge and operational steps
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends
  • Self-motivated, able to work without direct supervision
  • Familiarity with the medical cannabis industry is a plus
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Proficiency with computers
  • A valid Driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to clear a state-conducted background check
  • No felony convictions
