Supply Chain Manager (Full Time, Exempt)
Syndeo has a direct-hire opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager with an outstanding client in the Aerospace Manufacturing industry.
In this leadership role, you will oversee and coordinate all supply chain operations, including production planning, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, indirect procurement, MRP scheduling, and financial forecasting. The ideal candidate will drive strategic initiatives focused on cost reduction, operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and workplace safety.
You will evaluate current processes and identify opportunities to streamline operations, ensuring products are delivered efficiently and effectively to meet customer demands. Responsibilities also include managing the movement, storage, and control of inventory, as well as leading, developing, and mentoring a high-performing supply chain team. This includes hiring, training, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations to foster continuous growth and success within the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitor forecasts and orders to identify changes in customer demand or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors such as product cost, quality and delivery.
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service.
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, and quality assurance.
  • Negotiate prices and long term agreements with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
  • Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
  • Design and implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, and receiving.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements. Ensure that a regular rating system is in place for suppliers to review and understand their performance levels. Work to remedy poor performance.
  • Participate in the coordination of engineering changes or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material and production flow.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, production and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
  • Develop and implement procedures or systems to evaluate and select suppliers.
  • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, and system flows.
  • Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
  • Assess appropriate material-handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
  • Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
  • Provide periodic reports to executive management and makes recommendations in line with strategic company initiatives.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related assigned tasks as needed.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Operations Management, Business or Supply Chain

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting Programs
  • Aerospace Industry Experience

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Significant and relevant management and leadership experience in progressively responsible positions in a supply chain-based environment.
