Job Summary

The Apprenticeship Trainer supports the planning, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of apprenticeship training  and onboarding programs. In addition to managing training logistics and learner support, this role facilitates and delivers selected training content and construction onboarding programs.  Working under the direction of the Training Leader, this position helps ensure training programs are executed consistently, professionally, and at a high standard. The Apprenticeship Trainer serves as both a program delivery support and an active trainer, contributing to learner engagement and workforce readiness. Responsible for coordinating logistics, managing schedules, session calendars, class rosters, and facilitator assignments, and serves as a primary point of contact for learners regarding schedules, expectations, and overall learner experience.  Supports new staff onboarding programs by coordinating sessions, materials, and participant communications.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery & Facilitation, Logistics & Session Support

  • Facilitate and deliver assigned training modules (or digital tools specialized training as assigned) and construction onboarding programs, modeling effective facilitation practices and contribute to a professional, engaging learning environment.
  • Support instructors and subjectmatter experts by cofacilitating sessions and reinforcing key learning objectives and managing attendance, timing and session flow.
  • Deliver standardized content to ensure consistency across locations and training cycles.
  • Coordinate guest instructors, SMEs, and crossfunctional contributors and prepare classrooms, materials, technology, and digital access for inperson, virtual, and hybrid sessions..
  • Distribute training materials, job aids, and prework to participants.
  • Communicate schedules, confirmations, reminders, and followup materials and provide direct support to learners before, during, and after training sessions.
  • Escalate learner needs, risks, or improvement opportunities to the Training Leader and collect learner feedback and identify engagement or comprehension issues.

Curriculum & Content Support

  • Assist with maintaining and updating training materials, presentations, and job aids ensuring instructional materials are current, accurate, and accessible.
  • Assist with reporting and evaluation of training effectiveness, providing feedback on curriculum effectiveness based on facilitation and learner interaction.
  • Track attendance, completions, and LMS progress for academies and onboarding programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership, training, instructional, or construction operations role.
  • Extensive handson experience in construction, project management, or industrial field operations.
  • Strong knowledge of AWP/WFP, work packaging principles, and field execution processes.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking, reporting, and delivering training.
  • Ability to create, edit, and deliver digital training materials using presentation, document, and spreadsheet tools.
  • Familiarity with virtual training platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx).
  • Strong general computer literacy, including file management, digital communication, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience using or adapting instructional technology tools such as projectors, smart boards, online testing systems, or contentauthoring tools.
  • Ability to work, communicate, and deliver instruction effectively in both inperson and remote environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years field operations or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Education, Engineering, or related field
  • Prior experience mentoring training professionals.
  • Experience developing curriculum or leveraging adult learning methodologies.
  • Certifications such as Certified WorkFace Planne, AWP University are highly desirable.
  • Experience delivering training in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats.
  • Strong problemsolving, decisionmaking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and lead crossfunctional initiatives.
Work Environment/Physical Demands

Office based role with minimum 20% travel for on-site training, coordination or field engagement.
