Job description

DFX & Engineering Manager Operations Engineering Everett, Washington Full-time Reports to: Senior Director, Operations SECTION 1 Why should you join Fluke Health Solutions. Lead the newly-formed DFX & Engineering pillar at Fluke Health Solutions in Everett, Washington - where the test and calibration instruments your team builds help keep medical equipment safe in hospitals around the world. This is a build-it role: you will stand up a fourth engineering pillar, set the design-for-excellence (DFX) agenda across the portfolio, and shape how DFX, test, manufacturing, software, and metrology work together to move the operational KPIs that drive the business.

Backed by the Fortive Business System and a product portfolio with real, quantified improvement headroom, you will have the mandate, the team, and the runway to make a visible impact - with a clear path toward senior operations leadership. SECTION 2 What this role entails Lead and develop the DFX & Engineering pillar (DFX, test, manufacturing, software, and metrology) across the FHS biomedical portfolio. Own the design-for-excellence agenda - manufacturability, testability, yield, and cost - across new-product introduction and end-of-life.

Own the engineering KPI bowler - first-pass yield, DPPM, and on-time delivery - and drive countermeasures wherever targets slip. Lead the Fortive Business System in the function (PSP, 3P, VRK, Standard Work, Daily Management) and build a strong hiring and talent-development plan. Partner across Quality, Materials, Production, Service, R&D, and HR to align engineering capacity to the operating plan and backlog.

Your team You will lead a close-knit, cross-disciplinary team of roughly a dozen engineers based onsite in Everett - spanning DFX, test, software, and metrology - working hands-on across our lab and manufacturing floor. The team partners daily with Production, Quality, Materials, Service, and R&D, runs a continuous-improvement (Kaizen) cadence, and operates with a "be curious, not judgmental" problem-solving mindset. Because this is a newly-shaped pillar, you will have unusual influence over how it is built - while plugging into Fortive's broader engineering and operations community across operating companies.

This role is considered a successor to the Director of Operations. SECTION 3 What we are looking for A. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or related); advanced degree a plus.

8+ years of engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, including leading or formally mentoring engineers. Demonstrated DFX / design-for-manufacturability leadership and ownership of operational KPIs (yield, DPPM, OTD). Working fluency in a business system (Fortive Business System or equivalent Lean / Six Sigma).

Experience in medical device or other ISO 9001 / 13485 / 17025 or FDA-regulated manufacturing. B. Personal / soft skills Builds and develops extraordinary teams; coaches and elevates engineers.

Decisive and data-driven, with a bias to intelligent action. Strong cross-functional influence and clear communication. Curious and improvement-minded; comfortable leading change.
