Job description

We are hiring immediately for a full-time aircraft mechanic. This role is critical to our mission, so we are offering veterans the opportunity to use your prior military aircraft maintenance experience to become a licensed A&P mechanic.

Start your career at Textron Aviation in this role, and we will provide a two-week prep course and pay for you to obtain your Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certifications within 90 days of your start date.

What you will be doing as an A & P Mechanic:

You can expect to conduct thorough inspections, maintenance, and repairs on Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft models. Your responsibilities include:

•        Performs a variety of mechanical duties involving diagnosis of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft for flight and delivery to customer.

•        Performs turbine engine troubleshooting, inspection, repair and engine run-ups.

What you need to be successful:

•        High school education or GED required.

•        Must have hours of On-the-Job training (MOS/NEC/AFSC) reviewed and evaluated by an FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO).

•        Must be able to test for your Airframe and/or Powerplant ratings within 90 days of starting.

Why join us?

Your success is our success. We provide a competitive and extensive total rewards package that includes pay and innovative benefits to help you and your family members – now and in the future, beginning day one.

• 401K company match additional annual contribution equal to 4% of eligible compensation

• Education assistance for undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs, compensated at the start of the semester

• Flight training bonus program for earning pilot certifications

• Fertility and adoption assistance, along with discounted childcare and planning

• Free financial consultations and guidance

• Access to 14 Employee Resource Groups

• And so much more

At Textron Aviation, base pay is only one of the parts of our Total Rewards package and is determined within a range. This provides you the opportunities to grow and develop within your role, and depends on your experience, qualifications, and location.

Our workforce is made up of individuals throughout the world with a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and passions. Our diverse perspectives lead us to be a world-class workforce, helping us develop legendary products. Because we recognize that our differences make us stronger, and studies have shown that some may be less likely to apply unless they match the job description exactly, we welcome you to apply to this role if it meets your career goals. You could be our next great fit!

Note: The FAA will not authorize you to test for your Airframe and/or Powerplant ratings because you served in the military. You must have the required time spent working in military aircraft maintenance to be considered for this program.
