Job description

Join a dynamic team at a leading steel fabrication facility, where safety, teamwork, and continuous learning are valued. As a Beam Line Operator (Level 1), you will play a key role in the production process by operating machinery to drill and fabricate steel components. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn new skills in a supportive environment—no prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. Responsibilities
  • Operate beam line machinery and related equipment to drill, cut, and fabricate steel parts according to production goals and specifications.
  • Prepare jobs for quality control inspection, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
  • Assist with basic fabrication tasks, including sawing, drilling, and punching holes in steel shapes.
  • Label jobs with customer and project information as required.
  • Perform quality checks on all orders and report any discrepancies or damaged items to the supervisor.
  • Transport materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists (training provided).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following housekeeping procedures.
  • Read and interpret job packets, blueprints, and process documentation (training provided).
  • Assist with inventory checks and material staging as needed.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on beam line machinery (training provided).
  • Work collaboratively with team members and assist others with equipment operation once trained.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Be available to work at least 40 hours per week, with overtime and shift flexibility as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes; no prior experience required.
  • Basic math skills and ability to learn to read a tape measure, calipers, and blueprints.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand or walk for up to 10 hours per day, and perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and around moving machinery, noise, and airborne particles.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Compensation

$20.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
