The Brake Shop Associate will participate in all operations of our brake shop production center for FleetCraft brake shoes. This role will be responsible for performing all duties within the brake shop production center in a safe and effective manner while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality standards for the team.
ResponsibilitiesandDuties
Brake Shoe Refurbishment:
- Wash and de-rivet returned brake cores.
- Operate core line machinery to bead blast and re-paint returned brake cores.
- Inspect refurbished brake cores andstack them onskidsto storein the warehouse.
- Movecompleted and wrappedskids to the warehouseracks.
Brake Shoe Riveting and Boxing:
- Operate the automaticand/or manual riveting machine to re-line heavy-duty brake shoes.
- Inspect riveted brake coresand stack them on skids to store in the warehouse.
- Properly pull, pack and labelbrake shoestock tofulfilldaily orders.
Operational Excellence:
- Meet and exceed production deadlines to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Followstandard operating procedures(SOPs) set forthe department.
- Prepare andsubmitdaily paperwork in a complete andaccuratemanner.
- Resolveminimal, routineproblemsthat ariseand escalatemechanical and operationalissuesthat cannot be solved.
- Ensureworkmeets safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Participate inregular inspections and audits ofprocessesand products.
- Followcorrective actionscommunicated by leadershipto improvequality standards.
Workplace Safety:
- Followsafety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulationsto prevent accidents and injuries.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
SkillsandQualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, distribution, logistics, and/or warehouse operations.
- General understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
- Ability to think critically and solve minor problems.
- Ability to find discrepancies in work and stay detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage daily workload and stay organized.
PhysicalRequirements
- Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs. with other associates.
- Ability to work through prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Job Perks:
- Wages start at $19.34/hr
- $50 bonus per week for good attendance
- Weekends off: Monday - Thursday, 5:00AM - 3:30PM
