Job description

Position: Baseball Director of Player Development
Department: Athletics
Status: Full Time
Position Summary:
The Baseball Director of Player Development will have the responsibility of assisting the Head Coach with administration, recruiting, and on-the-field development of this NCAA Division I baseball program. This staff member will be expected to adhere to all University, CAA and NCAA regulations in the course of performing their duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work extensively in data collection and analysis; deliver reports/findings to coaches for use in furthering the development and success of the program
  • Manage videography processes for practices, games, individual sessions and weight room areas, provide footage to coaches, maintain and catalogue as appropriate
  • Utilize TrackMan, Rhapsodo, HitTraxx, and other technical developmental tools as part of the efforts to enhance athlete performance; make recommendations for improved usage of these systems
  • Assist coaching staff in all practical endeavors related to practices and games, to include, but not limited to planning, scheduling, preparation of faciliites, and set up and operation of Audio/Visual/Scoreboard
  • Assist coaching and recruiting staff by compling scouting reports and participating in outreach efforts
  • Assist with campus visitations as needed; communicate and work in cooperation with other departments on campus to facilitate successful and positive experiences for visitors
  • Responsible for maintenance and inventory of team uniforms, sportswear, training gear, and equipment; maintain accurate records, and advise coaches of needed repairs/refurbishments, replacements, or purchases
  • Execute all facets of team travel, including hotel and meal accommodations
  • Serve as point of contact with visiting teams via Visiting Team Guide; assist with travel, accommodations and other special requests as needed and/or directed by coaches
  • Aid in Athletic Department and Baseball fundraising efforts, serve as liaison to Diamond Bullpen Club, and contribute to alumni engagement efforts
  • Assist in promoting, organizing and running baseball camps sponsored and run under a separate LLC.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule as work includes regular night, weekend and holiday hours
  • This position requires the ability to travel, which includes overnight stays.
  • Exemplify the goals, values, and objectives of Campbell University's baseball program.
  • Uphold and abide by all Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
  • Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned by the Head Baseball Coach or Director of Athletics at any time, with or without notice.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least 2 years of college coaching experience with proven recruiting at the NCAA Division I level desired
  • Experience competing as a NCAA Division I baseball athlete desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn, improve, and help others achieve to the best of their abilities
  • Technologically savvy, and proficient in Microsoft applications, the internet and social media
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in all interactions, including those with students/athletes, coaches, officials, trainers, university faculty and staff, and the public
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in complex, stressful and/or new situations
  • This position requires integrity, honesty, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University
