Based in: Cincinnati, Ohio

Position Type: Full-Time

Taproom Hours: Monday-Thursday: 3pm โ€“ 10pm, Friday-Saturday: Noon - 12am, Sunday: Noon - 9pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a new team member for our Bar Shift Lead position in Cincinnati, Ohio. We are an upbeat and energetic group in search of a candidate who shares our passion for creativity, and hard work. We are also looking for someone with ambition and positivity, who is capable of multitasking and learning multiple functions within our sales organization. Task management is paramount, and one must value customer service to be part of our Rhinegeist team.

We are looking for someone to help us continue our reputation for safe and friendly customer service. Our Bartenders help service our main taproom and our rooftop area when open. We offer a fun, friendly and professional environment while offering opportunities for bartenders to grow their knowledge of craft beer. Additionally, we offer wine and a cocktail program.

Our Bar Shift Leads work alongside taproom management to ensure the taproom is set for success for the upcoming week and event schedule. Tasks include checking in and putting away orders, including beer, wine, liquor and dry goods, batching cocktails, stocking, completing additional bar set ups. Knowledgeable of inventory control and draft systems a plus but on the job training is available.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up amp; break down of bars and taproom guest areas.
  • Provide knowledgeable, excellent customer service to guests.
  • Accurately manage guest orders, tabs, and cash sales.
  • Keep a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Taproom AV systems and set up.
  • Daily money management including safe counting and audits at the end of shifts.
  • Update daily tips through the POS system
  • Work as a bartender when scheduled
  • Ability to clean our draft systems
  • Ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Build an environment of exemplary customer service and motivated employees, ensuring that the Taproom is an inspiring place to enjoy Rhinegeist beverages.
  • Maintain an outwardly positive and motivating attitude toward current and future taproom programming while interacting with staff and guests.
  • Train new staff members as needed.
  • Resolve and/or report staff or guest issues.
  • Participate in required beer education and workplace training classes.
  • Maintaining/Ensuring all guest areas are clean and safe.
  • Maintaining/Ensuring taproom BOH areas are clean and safe.
  • Stock kegs, put away liquor and hard good orders
  • Cocktail batching
  • Set up of bars
  • All other tasks as assigned by Taproom Management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work 2 weekends days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Ability to work weekdays
  • Must be able to work on your feet for up to 8 hours
  • At least one year of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of beer styles and brewing process
