Requirements
Special Conditions or Certifications of Employment:
  • Valid Nevada driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Pre-employment Background Check Required โ€ข Pre-employment Drug Screen Required
  • Achieve Serve Safe Food Safety Certification (within 6 months from date of hire).
  • CERES and Meal Connect software proficiency (within 9 months from date of hire)

Required Education and Experience:
  • GED or high school diploma.
  • Valid NV driver's license and proof of insurance
  • Work experience in an office environment and providing customer service.
  • 1-3 years' non-profit experience/including volunteer experience.
  • Willing to travel within FBNN service area.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen (marijuana included), background check and eligibility to be covered under the food bank's vehicle insurance policy.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelors' Degree
  • Relationships with food suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, producers, growers, packers are strongly desired.
  • Experience in the retail grocery industry a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish (written and verbal)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Be the primary point of contact for FBNN food donors, which includes Retail, Manufacturing, Producers, Growers and Packers. โ€ข Create and implement onsite donor visitation plans that aligns with the Product Sourcing Plan.
  • Create a store donation toolkit for all food donors, including retail chains and manufacturers, to be used when visiting stores and donors.
  • Maintain donor activity in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
  • Work with Agency Relations to establish a process for effectively managing all aspects of the Retail Store Donation Program.
  • Conduct necessary training for agency pickups at retail stores and insure the reporting of those donations.
  • Provide weekly communication and monthly outreach to all grocery rescue retail and food donation partners.
  • Audit Meal Connect to verify compliance and take any necessary corrective action.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with Operations Department to ensure needs of donor, agencies, and FBNN are being met.
  • Take the lead in scheduling food donations that are outside of food drives and work with the Transportation staff to assure on time pickups of food donations.
  • Prepare and present reports documenting donations and trends to donors, partners and FBNN internal teams.
  • Monitor and report donation progress to store managers, district managers and program coordinators where applicable.
  • Review MTD/YTD activity of our food donation partners on a monthly basis with the Director of Food Resourcing.
  • Work with the Marketing team to recognize donors where applicable (food bank newsletter, website, direct mail, social media, etc.)
  • Provide personal follow up or recognition for retailers in conjunction with Development Department.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

  • Knowledge of or ability to develop proficiency in using such as CERES and Meal Connect.
  • Able to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Intellectual curiosity.
  • Skilled in research and data review, analysis and reporting.
  • Active learning, active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, clear speaking, clear writing.

  • Must be responsive, accountable, and detail oriented with a problem-solving orientation

Travel:
  • Travel within the food bank's service area. Occasional travel to rural locations may be necessary, as well.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are variable Monday through Saturday ranging in times between 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • This is a typical work time range, however earlier starts, later end times and occasional overnights can and will occur based on need for various meetings and visits.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in an office-like setting.
  • Employee may occasionally work in the field and may be subject to differing weather conditions.

  • The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate computers, objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods while driving, walk, stand, talk and hear.
