Job description

At Backcountry, our mission is to connect people to their passions. Our four online stores—Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist, MotoSport and, SteepandCheap—aim to supply our customers with the gear, knowledge, and inspiration necessary to get out there and chase down life’s greatest moments. We do this by providing the biggest and best assortment of premium outdoor products, superior shopping experience, personalized Gearhead expertise, lightning-fast and accurate fulfillment, and inspirational, informative, and community-centered content.

This is a Seasonal Position with a maximum employment period of six (6) months. We offer three full-time shift options; part-time positions are not available.

Backcountry has an amazing opportunity for highly motivated individual to join our Warehouse team as a Merchandise Processor! If you are fast on your feet, and love handling all the cool gear we sell from the time it enters our doors to the time it leaves, this job could be for you…consider it more like pre shopping and less like work!

This is a physically active role that keeps you on your feet and moving throughout your shift. You'll spend your time packing orders and loading packages into trailers, which means you should be comfortable with constant standing, frequent bending, and repetitive lifting. If you're someone who prefers hands-on work over sitting at a desk, this is a great fit.

Three Shifts Available:
·  AM- Mon-Fri, 6:00a-2:30p, $16.00/hr.
·  PM- Mon-Fri, 2:30p-11:00p, $15/hr + $1.85/hr shift differential = $17.85/hr.
· WKN- Sat-Mon, 8:00a-8:30p, $15/hr + $2.00/hr shift differential = $18.00/hr.
- Our shifts are NOT flexible, meaning if you are unable to work the entire shift, we are unable to hire you.

Seasonal Position Info:
·    Yes! We do often convert our high-performing seasonal employees to regular status, these decisions are based on business demands and performance.
·    Seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits; however, you do get to participate in our employee discount perk and it's a good one!

Overtime: Occasionally, overtime may be required to support operational demands. When this happens, overtime is typically scheduled as follows:
·       AM Shift: May begin up to 1 hour earlier than the standard start time
·       PM Shift: May extend up to 1 hour beyond the usual end time
·       Weekend Shift: May include an additional day, as shifts are already 10–12 hours

Please note that all scheduling, including overtime, is subject to change based on business needs and volume fluctuations. We appreciate your flexibility and commitment in helping us meet customer expectations.

Blackout Dates & Holiday Information: Our warehouse will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day; and we typically work shorter hours on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. To support our busiest season, our Backcountry fulfillment centers have a blackout period for time off requests. The blackout period is typically from November 10th through December 23rd. During this blackout period, time off requests cannot be approved.
