Full Time Aws Serverless Developer information

What are the common challenges faced by a Full Time AWS Serverless Developer when deploying applications at scale?

A Full Time AWS Serverless Developer often encounters challenges related to managing the complexity of distributed serverless architectures, such as coordinating multiple AWS Lambda functions, ensuring efficient API Gateway integrations, and handling cold starts. Monitoring and debugging across numerous microservices can also be more complex than in traditional architectures. Additionally, optimizing costs and managing service limits require careful planning, especially as applications scale and usage patterns change. Collaboration with DevOps and security teams is crucial to ensure best practices in deployment and compliance.

What does a Full Time AWS Serverless Developer do?

A Full Time AWS Serverless Developer designs, develops, and maintains cloud-based applications using AWS serverless services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3. Their work involves building scalable and cost-effective solutions that don't require managing traditional servers. They are responsible for writing code, integrating AWS services, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the security and performance of applications. Serverless developers also collaborate with other team members to deliver robust solutions aligned with business needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time AWS Serverless Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time AWS Serverless Developer, you need strong programming skills (such as Python, Node.js, or JavaScript), in-depth knowledge of serverless architecture, and hands-on experience with AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. Familiarity with cloud development tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions like AWS CloudFormation or SAM, and relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer – Associate) are typically required. Problem-solving, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset are crucial soft skills in this role. These skills ensure the development of efficient, scalable, and reliable serverless applications that align with business objectives and adapt quickly to changing requirements.

What is the difference between Full Time Aws Serverless Developer vs Cloud Engineer?

AspectFull Time Aws Serverless DeveloperCloud Engineer
CredentialsAWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer - Associate), knowledge of serverless architectureAWS certifications, cloud platform certifications, broader cloud architecture knowledge
Work EnvironmentFocus on designing, developing, and deploying serverless applications on AWSManage and optimize cloud infrastructure across multiple services and platforms
Industry UsagePrimarily in companies adopting serverless solutions and AWS cloudIn diverse organizations managing overall cloud infrastructure, including serverless components

While both roles involve AWS cloud expertise, a Full Time Aws Serverless Developer specializes in building serverless applications using AWS services, whereas a Cloud Engineer manages broader cloud infrastructure, including serverless, virtual machines, and networking. The developer role is more focused on application development, while the engineer oversees the entire cloud environment.

Contract

Role Expectation: -
AWS Full Stack Developer with strong hands-on Amazon Kinesis experience in building real-time event-driven streaming applications using Lambda, API Gateway, Python/Java, and serverless AWS architecture.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS Full Stack Developer to lead the migration of contact center call recording and analytics capabilities from the current Amazon Connect and Calabrio integration to a modern architecture. This role will design, develop, and implement cloud-native solutions to transition call recordings, metadata, analytics, and downstream integrations while ensuring security, compliance, and minimal disruption to contact center operations.
The ideal candidate combines strong AWS application development skills with experience in contact center technologies, serverless architectures, data migration, and full-stack application development.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Design and Architecture
  • Design and implement a scalable AWS architecture to migrate call recordings and analytics from Calabrio to Amazon Connect Contact Lens.
  • Assess the existing Amazon Connect and Calabrio integration, including recording storage, metadata structures, retention policies, and reporting dependencies.
  • Define migration strategies for historical recordings, transcripts, and associated metadata.
  • Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.

Backend Development
  • Build serverless and microservices-based applications using AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon SQS.
  • Develop APIs and automation to extract recordings and metadata from Calabrio and load them into AWS services such as Amazon S3 and Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Integrate with Amazon Transcribe and Contact Lens analytics where required.

Front-End Development
  • Develop dashboards and administrative tools using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Build interfaces for migration monitoring, reconciliation, and operational reporting.

Data Migration and Validation
  • Develop automated scripts to migrate historical call recordings, transcripts, and metadata.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks.
  • Ensure chain of custody and auditability throughout the migration process.

DevOps and Automation
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub GitHub Actions, Atlassian Jenkins, or Amazon Web Services AWS CodePipeline.
  • Automate environment provisioning, testing, and deployment.

Security and Compliance
  • Implement encryption, access controls, and audit logging using AWS Key Management Service, AWS Identity and Access Management, and AWS CloudTrail.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PCI, and enterprise data retention requirements.

Collaboration
  • Partner with contact center, infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Support testing, cutover planning, and post-production stabilization.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications on AWS.
  • 3+ years of experience with Amazon Connect.
  • Experience with Amazon Connect Contact Lens and/or call recording analytics platforms.
  • Experience integrating with Calabrio or similar workforce and recording solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Java.
  • Front-end development experience with React or Angular.
  • Expertise in REST APIs, serverless architecture, and event-driven design.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation.
  • Strong understanding of data migration, reconciliation, and testing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Amazon Web Services certifications such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of contact center quality management and analytics processes.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Athena, Amazon QuickSight, and Amazon OpenSearch Service.

Top 3 Critical Skills
  1. AWS Full Stack Development – Serverless application development using Lambda, API Gateway, React/Angular, and AWS-native services.
  2. Amazon Connect and Contact Lens Expertise – Deep understanding of call recording, transcription, analytics, and contact center integrations.
  3. Data Migration and Automation – Experience migrating large volumes of recordings and metadata with validation, reconciliation, and CI/CD automation.
