Position Overview
We are seeking an Autonomous Systems Integration Engineer to join a hauling application team responsible for the overall onboard, vehicle-level solution for autonomous haulage machines used in mining. Working under the direction of the team's system integration lead, this individual will contribute to onboard system designs and decisions, help design the electronic and network architecture for the autonomy technology stack, and coordinate delivery of solutions with partner teams. This is a highly collaborative, high-visibility role offering opportunities for technical growth as well as exposure to project management.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to onboard system designs and technical decisions for autonomous haulage vehicles.
• Identify and evaluate potential solutions to new requirements or system-level issues.
• Analyze the value and risk of proposed changes, in collaboration with the hauling team, process partners, and subject matter experts.
• Break down selected solutions into actionable delivery elements and work items assigned to the appropriate teams.
• Design electronic and network architecture for the autonomy technology stack used across hauling autonomy products.
• Document designs and technical decisions, and coordinate delivery timelines with partner teams.
• Coordinate hardware availability with component, development, and validation teams.
• Support implementation efforts by collaborating with delivery teams as needed.
• Partner with the validation team on test plan creation and support issue triage and troubleshooting.
Team Structure & Work Environment
• Reports to and works under the direction of the system integration lead.
• Works within a broader hauling engineering organization that partners closely with platform, offboard, validation, product support, and business teams.
• Primarily an office-based role, with some time in laboratory or validation environments.
• Occasional travel to proving grounds or customer sites may be required.
Requirements
Education & Experience Required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Comparable backgrounds considered: prior experience as an Autonomy Engineer or in a similar role.
