Overview

Position Summary 

The Service Detailer is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and preparing customer and service vehicles to OEM and dealership standards. This role ensures vehicles are professionally presented after maintenance or repair work and supports the Service Department in delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and vehicle presentation. 

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform interior and exterior cleaning, including washing, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, windows, and removing debris.
  • Complete detailing tasks such as polishing, waxing, shampooing carpets, and using appropriate cleaning chemicals and tools. 
  • Inspect vehicles before and after detailing to ensure work meets dealership quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the wash bay and detailing area.
  • Assist with vehicle movement, including transporting vehicles to and from service bays, parking areas, and customer pickup lanes. 
  • Follow OEM and dealership procedures for handling customer vehicles with care and professionalism.
  • Report any vehicle damage, concerns, or maintenance issues to Service Advisors or management.
  • Use detailing products, equipment, and tools safely and properly. 
  • Support the Service Department with additional tasks as required, including lot organization or vehicle preparation. 
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications 

  • Previous automotive detailing or car wash experience is an asset but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple vehicles throughout the day.
  • Good communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude. 
  • Ability to safely operate dealership vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, and trucks. 
  • Strong work ethic and reliability. 
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. 
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions when moving or staging vehicles.
