Position Summary:
We're looking for an Electrician who wants to make an impact.
In this role, you'll work alongside mechanical designers, controls engineers, and machine builders to bring custom equipment to life, from wiring the first panel to supporting final machine startup. Every project is different, giving you the opportunity to solve technical challenges, expand your skills, and see the direct results of your craftsmanship.
If you enjoy machine wiring, electrical troubleshooting, interpreting schematics, and working hands-on with custom equipment, we'd like to meet you.
Location: Full-time, hourly position onsite in Holland, MI. Standard shop hours are 7am-3:30pm.
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay: $17-$28 per hour, based on experience.
We also offer:
  • Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid company holidays
  • Overtime pay for eligible positions (time and a half over 40 hours)
  • Professional development and career advancement opportunities
  • Training on Hi-Lo, aerial platform, overhead crane, OSHA 10, and more
  • Journeyman apprenticeship program with educational expense coverage
  • Company-sponsored lunches, events, and team activities
  • Access to employee resources and exclusive partner discounts
  • Climate-controlled work environment
  • Premium pay for traveling
  • Profit-sharing bonuses

What You'll Do:
As an Electrician at Mission Design & Automation, you will:
  • Collaborate with machine builders, mechanical designers, and controls engineers to install, repair, and rebuild electrical systems for custom automation equipment
  • Build high-quality control panels and machine wiring that is in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Interpret electrical schematics to effectively and safely build, wire, and troubleshoot automation equipment
  • Support machine tear-downs, installations, and commissioning activities, helping deliver reliable equipment that performs as designed
  • Take ownership of your portion of each project, making decisions and solving challenges independently while collaborating with an experienced team for support
  • Communicate project status, technical challenges, and resource needs with the Lead Electrician, Electrical Manager, and other departments to keep projects on schedule
  • Document electrical modifications and communicate machine changes to cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accurate project records and successful collaboration
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace where every team member can do their best work

What You Bring:
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • 2+ years of electrical experience
  • Experience interpreting electrical schematics, machine wiring, panel building, and troubleshooting
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Ability to work in industrial environments (lift 50lbs as required, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, climbing beneath machines, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain Hi-Lo, aerial platform, and/or overhead crane licenses
  • Ability to provide your own hand tools (tool purchase program available)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational or technical electrical education
  • Experience with custom automation, machine design, or manufacturing systems

Don't Meet Every Qualification?
We understand that no candidate checks every box. If you're excited about this opportunity and believe you have the skills to succeed, we encourage you to apply.
Travel:
Travel up to 20% may be required for customer installations and support, including domestic and occasional international travel. Premium pay is provided for travel.
What It's Like to Work Here:
At Mission, we believe great engineering starts with great people.
You'll work alongside experienced professionals who enjoy solving difficult problems, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another. We value accountability, trust, continuous improvement, and taking pride in building quality equipment.
