About Us

SBA Home North Carolina is the first U.S. production facility of SBA Group, a leading European furniture manufacturer headquartered in Lithuania. Operations are scheduled to begin in late 2025, and the facility will employ more than 250 talented professionals. This highly automated and robotic manufacturing site will produce furniture reaching millions of homes across the United States, offering employees the opportunity to grow their careers in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment.

The Automation Electrician is responsible for supporting the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical systems, automated equipment, machinery, and facility electrical components throughout the manufacturing plant. This role diagnoses, maintains, installs, repairs, and improves electrical and automation systems to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production.

After completion of training on 1st shift, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, this position is expected to transition to 2nd shift, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
    • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, automated equipment, machinery, and facility electrical components.
    • Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, and automation issues in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production efficiency.
    • Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, drives, sensors, PLCs, control panels, and related electrical equipment.
    • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to effectively troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
    • Prepare and maintain work instructions related to electrical maintenance, equipment operation, safety procedures, TPM activities, and standard work practices.
    • Fabricate, modify, or repair electrical components and wiring systems using appropriate electrical and plant tools as needed.
    • Ensure all electrical work is completed in compliance with company quality standards, OSHA regulations, electrical codes, safety requirements, and environmental policies.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, inspection reports, and inventory usage within the maintenance management system.
    • Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new electrical equipment, automation systems, and production machinery.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automation Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar industrial maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, automated equipment, PLCs, HMIs, motors, drives, sensors, control panels, and production machinery preferred.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, electrical safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing environment.
