Job description

Valley Asphalt is seeking individuals who excel at multitasking and are looking for a hands-on environment. We are currently hiring a full-time Asphalt Plant/Loader Operator.
Ideal candidates would have some experience within asphalt plant operations, maintenance background, and a proven safety track record. Successful candidates would be willing to learn, eagerness to take initiative, and hard working. Don't have the experience yet? Don't worry! We are willing to train and develop the right candidates!

Asphalt Plant Operator Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily maintenance and safety inspections on all assigned equipment
  • Operate a front-end loader and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist with loading, transporting, and feeding materials into the plant
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA / MSHA regulations and site-specific requirements
  • Support plant operations as needed with general labor or material handling


Required Skills:

  • Equipment Operation: Proficient in operating front-end loaders and capable of learning to run other types of equipment as needed
  • Safety Knowledge: Working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA safety regulations and a strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of computerized controls and electronics used in heavy equipment
  • Time Management: Ability to meet production goals and deadlines consistently under varying conditions
  • Adaptability: Willingness and ability to assist with various plant tasks beyond equipment operation

Asphalt Plant/ Loader Operator Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma / GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working knowledge of an aggregate plant and aggregate mining operations
  • CAT and John Deere front end loader experience
  • Minimum of three (3) experience operating front end loaders

Asphalt Plant/ Loader Operator Working Conditions:

  • Able to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb 70-80 ft.
  • Able to lift and carry 50lbs and work in inclement weather
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime, and weekends if needed
