Job description

Founded in 1946, Angelus Block is California’s leading producer of concrete masonry units, interlocking concrete pavers, decorative site wall units, and segmental planter wall units. We are currently seeking to direct hire a full-time Industrial Electrician/Maintenance Technician.

Job Description


The ideal candidate should possess practical industrial maintenance and troubleshooting experience in the following areas:

Schematics and Technical Documentation

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical manuals
  • Understanding of control circuits and industrial automation fundamentals

Electrical Systems

  • Understand and follow all plant safety procedures and protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout)
  • Familiar with how to Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC control circuits, motor starters, contactors, relays, transformers, proximity & limit switches, and other industrial automation equipment.
  • Experience working with 480V,220V, three- and single-phase system
  • Understanding of circuit design and industrial wiring techniques
  • Strong troubleshooting ability using multimeters, megger testers, and other diagnostic tools to identify and isolate electrical faults
  • Work on main electrical distribution systems, disconnects panels, breakers, and power feeds within manufacturing facilities
  • Troubleshoot and maintain three-phase drives, VFDs, soft starters
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and safe troubleshooting practices
  • Familiarity with motor wiring configurations such as delta and star connections
  • Ability to troubleshoot motors, motor starters, transformers, relays, and electrical components

Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Familiarity with installation, operation, and troubleshooting of VFDs and motor control systems
  • Ability to diagnose drive faults, communication issues, and motor-related problems


PLC and Control Systems

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of PLC systems, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC-related issues, verify inputs/outputs, interpret fault conditions, and follow control logic
  • Programming experience is beneficial but not required for this position

Hydraulic Systems

  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and components
  • Familiarity with solenoid valves, proportional valves, hydraulic power units, and related control functions
  • Ability to assist with troubleshooting hydraulic-related electrical control issues

Pneumatic Systems

  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems, including valves, actuators, cylinders, and air control components
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot common pneumatic control issues

Computer and Documentation Skills

  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word and PDF files for reporting, maintenance documentation, work orders, and tracking operational data
  • Ability to maintain organized records and communicate technical findings effectively

General Maintenance Expectations

  • Willing to learn machine operation
  • Good communication and teamwork skills willingness to support preventative maintenance and continuous improvement efforts
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize downtime situations in a production environment.


Minimum physical requirements:


Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing and lifting, etc.

Communication skills English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Constant- Seeing, carrying, gripping objects under 20lbs.

Frequent- Bending, reaching, sitting, lifting objects under 20lbs.

Occasional- feeling, climbing, balancing, hearing, stooping, standing, walking, driving, twisting, hand tools.

Pushing and pulling objects under 20 lbs. Carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling items from 20 lbs up to 100 lbs.
