Staff Analog Design Engineer
About the Role
As a Staff Analog Design Engineer at Analog Devices, you will lead the design and development of complex analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, working with significant latitude to solve challenging technical problems. You'll provide technical leadership on critical projects, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor less experienced engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with broader business understanding to drive innovation and ensure successful product delivery across multiple applications and markets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Circuit Design and Simulation: Design and develop sophisticated analog and mixed-signal ICs. Perform advanced block and transistor-level design, simulation, evaluation, and debugging to ensure optimal performance across process, voltage, and temperature variations. Circuit examples include PLL, high speed clock distribution, mixers, amplifiers, ADC/DAC, LDO and bias.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with system/architecture team, layout team, product engineering, test engineers, applications and software team to ensure designs meet performance objectives and business goals
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, reviewing their work and contributing to their professional development
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Contribute to the development of new theories, methods, and architectural approaches to solve complex design challenges

Must Have Skills
  • Analog Circuits Design: Expert-level ability to design and analyze complex analog circuits, examples include PLL, amplifiers, or ADC/DAC with the skill to optimize designs for specific applications and lead architectural decisions
  • Circuit Architecture Development: Demonstrated ability to develop innovative circuit architectures that balance performance requirements with practical implementation constraints and business objectives
  • Simulation Modeling and Analysis: Advanced proficiency with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, and Cadence Design Suite to validate complex designs across various conditions and lead statistical validation efforts
  • Integrated Circuit Layout: Deep understanding of physical IC layout considerations and experience optimizing layouts for performance, including guiding layout engineers on critical aspects
  • CMOS Technology: Comprehensive knowledge of CMOS circuit design principles and implementation techniques for integrated circuits with the ability to make architectural tradeoffs.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in analog circuit design
  • Design experience in FinFet
  • Lab skill in high frequency measurement using spectrum analyzer etc.
  • Publication record or patents in analog/mixed-signal design
