Material Planning amp; Purchasing Coordinator
(Electrical amp; Mechanical Purchasing | Field Support |Purchasing Agent | Inside Sales)
Pay Range $60,000 - $80,000 a year

Compensation is based on construction field experience, material knowledge, and purchasing or logistics background.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Material Planning amp; Purchasing Coordinator to support our job sites through proactive material management, purchasing, and coordination.
This role is ideal for someone with prior electrical field experience who has extensive knowledge of construction materials and terminology and is looking for a lower physical demand role while remaining closely involved in day-to-day operations. This position plays a vital role in keeping our electricians productive, reducing job delays, and ensuring materials are accurate and available when needed. A strong materials coordinator directly impacts job site efficiency, cost control, and overall project success.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Anticipate job site material needs and maintain accurate material flow
  • Create, process, and monitor purchase order requisitions
  • Order, track, and manage electrical materials, tools, and equipment
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all materials to job sites
  • Monitor material usage and track materials requiring return
Material Requisition amp; Returns
  • Manage material requisitions and emergency material orders
  • Coordinate and complete emergency deliveries to job sites as needed
  • Process and manage material returns to suppliers or internal warehouse
  • Track credits and returns to ensure accurate reconciliation
Warehouse, Inventory amp; Tool Management
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage shop inventory
  • Coordinate with internal warehouse managers on company-owned materials and equipment
  • Manage tools, tool repairs, and replacement tracking
Fleet amp; Job Site Coordination
  • Deliver materials, tools, and equipment to job sites
  • Coordinate deliveries and vehicle usage with the Company Fleet Manager
  • Assist with fleet coordination and maintenance scheduling as needed
Facilities Support
  • Assist with basic building maintenance needs
  • Support overall warehouse and office housekeeping and organization
Required Knowledge amp; Skills:
  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of electrical materials and equipment
  • Extensive understanding of both technical terms and common field slang
  • Valid drivers license and clean record
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior electrical field experience (journeyman or equivalent strongly preferred)
  • Experience with material purchasing or inventory management
  • Familiarity working with local electrical suppliers and vendors
  • Experience coordinating across multiple departments
  • Knowledge of low voltage and mechanical materials and equipment
