Description
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will ensure quality control for manufactured parts in accordance with established company and customer standards. You will perform inspections, verify product conformance to engineering drawings and specifications, document inspection results, and communicate quality findings to management and production personnel in a timely manner. This position also provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of quality inspection activities to ensure consistent execution of quality standards, employee development, and departmental performance.
Uses a variety of inspection instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMMs, height gauges, optical comparators, etc.) and calculations to determine conformity to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Performs visual inspections under magnification to determine conformity to customer and company standards.
  • Reviews certifications from suppliers and vendors to verify compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
  • Maintains accurate inspection records and quality documentation using company databases and quality management systems.
  • Coordinates inspection activities to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with production priorities.
  • Communicates inspection findings, nonconformances, and quality concerns to production, engineering, and management in a timely manner.
  • Assists in root cause investigations and supports corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, reduce defects, and enhance inspection processes.
  • Ensures compliance with company quality procedures, customer requirements, AS9100 standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides day-to-day leadership, direction, and work assignments for Quality Control Inspectors and Technicians.
  • Trains, mentors, and develops team members on inspection methods, quality standards, equipment operation, and documentation requirements.
  • Monitors employee performance provides coaching and constructive feedback, and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Partners with Human Resources to address attendance, performance, and employee relations issues through coaching and corrective action when appropriate.
  • Ensures employees comply with all safety requirements, company policies, quality procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Plans and prioritizes departmental workload to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new Quality team members.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and customer focus.
  • Tracks departmental performance metrics and implements improvements to increase quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Collaborates with Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
• For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams to support the core business, ensuring quality products are delivered on time.

  • Must be a team player and willing to learn new skills and concepts.
