Driving School Instructor

Whether you're a licensed driving instructor or exploring a meaningful new career, AAA Driving School offers the opportunity to make an impact every day. We deliver in-depth training and support for new instructors while valuing the experience of licensed professionals who are ready to put their skills to work with a trusted organization. In this role, you'll make a lasting impact - helping create safer roads by confidently guiding students of all ages through positive, professional instruction.
  • Hourly Pay: $24.50/hour - $26.00/hour
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week. Weekdays: Start between 11:30am-1:00pm, work an 8-hour/shift. Weekends: Minimum one day, starting as early as 7:00am for an 8-hour shift.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver behind-the-wheel instruction to students of varying ages and experience levels, following AAA's curriculum and training standards
  • Use our driving school software to track and manage student progress
  • Assess student performance and provide personalized guidance
  • Stay current on safe and defensive driving practices and maintain all required state documentation
  • Travel within a 50-mile radius as needed; a company vehicle with paid gas, maintenance, and insurance is provided

What You'll Bring
  • Experience in driving instruction, education, or the automotive industry
  • Confidence working with the public, especially teens
  • A strong commitment to promoting safe driving habits
  • Flexibility to accommodate student schedules, including weekday afternoons and at least one weekend day
  • Physical ability to sit for extended periods, hear and see in all weather conditions, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25lbs
  • Must be capable of safely assuming control of the vehicle from the passenger seat during instruction or emergency situations.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 5 years of driving experience
  • Must obtain state-issued Driving School Instructor license, which includes passing a DMV-required physical exam
  • Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening

The starting pay range for this position is $24.50 - $26.00 per hour. Additionally, after completion of your first year in the role, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon your team and individual performance.
