MTSI is seeking a motivated and proactive journeyman systems engineer with a good understanding of modern digital engineering approaches and tools. This position requires independent critical thinking, technical expertise, and guidance in the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of complex systems. The position is focused on capability development and early systems engineering, often with emerging technologies. The incumbent will be responsible for staying current with the latest technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will represent projects, acting as a technical advisor ensuring the systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards. This role requires a high degree of technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. The work location is in Dayton, OH.

Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
• Serve as the technical representative for systems engineering methodologies, tools and processes related to pre-program of record technical development, capability development.
• Lead and/or participate in the design, development, and integration of systems, subsystems, and components, from concept through experimentation, prototyping, production and sustainment.
• Conduct detailed analysis and modeling of systems, including performance, effectiveness, and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and maintain system specifications, technical documentation, and engineering drawings.
• Develop and execute test plans and procedures to verify system performance and compliance with requirements.
• Analyze test data, identify performance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems related to systems.
• Expand your technical expertise through training and continuous education.
• Stay abreast of advancements in technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications Required:
  • 5 years of systems engineering experience on complex systems, with 3 year of experience using modern digital engineering tools and processes to perform system engineering tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of system of systems and system design principles, technologies, and architectures.
  • Commanding understanding of system engineering principles and processes.
  • Proficiency in digital engineering software/tools (e.g., MATLAB, Atlassian, ANSYS, CAMEO, Team Work Cloud, CAD software, AFSIM, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant military standards and specifications.

Even better if you have these desired skills:
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools, Python scripting
Clearance Requirements:
• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
