Job description

Mechanical Aerospace Engineer

The Opportunity:

As an aerospace engineer, you know leading-edge technology and systems are critical to national defense. At Booz Allen, you can use your engineering expertise to develop advanced defense technology. We need your skills and expertise in weapons and energetic systems to develop creative solutions that directly impact the warfighter.

An effective weapons program requires systems engineers passionate about guiding it through the complexities of its lifecycle to include production and in service engineering. It requires someone who is dedicated to identifying challenges, mitigating risks, and supporting a team with vision and focus. That's why we need a seasoned systems engineer like you who can ensure our programs achieve success.

As a systems engineer on our team, you will work directly with clients and an integrated and multi-functional team to ensure their weapons deliverables are producible through attention to best practices in production engineering. You will further support reliability of fielded products through the in-service support of the product line.

You will focus on the full life cycle of projects from initial concept design, testing, and eventual deployment. You will be responsible for the proactive identification of project risks, assess quantitative data, perform root cause and corrective action, and collaborate with production, testing, and design personnel responsible for small rocket motors.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer

  • Experience working as an In-service engineer

  • Experience working with energetics, propellants, or solid rocket motors

  • Ability to collaborate with people from test, manufacturing, and operations backgrounds

  • Ability to make data driven decisions and recommendations

  • Ability to determine and interpret client business and technical requirements and drawings

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Naval weapons

  • Experience with small rocket motors

  • Experience leading Integrated Product Teams

  • Experience with risk management

  • Possession of strong analytical skills

  • INCOSE systems engineering Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
