ABOUT THE TEAM
The CNC team is part of the Aerostructures Production organization, providing in-house prototype manufacturing support for high-profile programs. This role will partner across the engineering organization, quality organization, and assembly teams to build next-generation hardware. We specialize in low-volume, prototype, and development work. We also support some small to medium production jobs. Mainly composites machining, with some metallic parts.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator to join our rapidly growing team in Morrisville, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, set-up and operation of 4 and 5-axis CNC machines as needed. This will require knowledge of machining different materials, and creative fixturing solutions. This role will be dynamic and full of new engagement, challenges, and opportunities to bring the core elements of success for an aerospace machining program-complex machine setups, tight-tolerance machining of advanced materials, rigorous tool control and FOD prevention, in-process inspection, and machine maintenance.
The role will also support the development and adoption of new advanced manufacturing processes. As Anduril grows, our machining capabilities and the scope of this role will grow too. Please note the working hours for this role with be Monday - Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM EST.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models.
  • Programming of CNC multi-axis routers, mills, and lathes.
  • Design/spec out and implement various work holding and fixture methods.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and adjust during the manufacturing process.
  • Perform quality control both during and at completion of the manufacturing process.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years experience as a programmer using Mastercam or similar CAM software
  • Prototyping, R&D, and short production experience.
  • Clear understanding of G and M code.
  • High level of familiarity with multi-axis and 3D machining.
  • Experience with 5 axis routers or 4/5 axis milling machines.
  • High level of tooling and fixture experience
  • Experience selecting multi operation part setups and fixturing
  • Ability to take ownership of entire manufacturing process from start to finish
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance
  • This position is based in Morrisville, NC and requires being onsite - remote work not considered

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years experience as a machine setup/operator.
  • Experience with live tooling CNC lathes
  • Experience with Fanuc, Fagor, HAAS or Siemens controls
  • 5-axis simultaneous programming
  • Familiarity with various composites and plastics, etc.
  • Experience with CAD software like Solidworks or NX
  • High level of GD&T knowledge.

US Hourly Range
$35.01-$47.01 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
