Job description

MISSION:

To visually communicate the heart of what God is up to at Canyon Ridge by translating mission, values, and strategy into compelling, cohesive, and functional design across print, digital, social, and ministry environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Steward the brand identity well, from executing deliverables to coaching others as the primary point of contact for graphics' look and feel.
  • Reflect the heart of Canyon Ridge's mission in each project, ensuring the design serves ministry purposes and aligns with messaging strategy to a wide audience.
  • Draft, design, and finalize print and digital pieces with excellence and production readiness.
  • Collaborate with different ministry teams to understand needs, clarify deliverables, and create assets.
  • Participate in and help run sprint-based workflows, so creative work moves forward on time and with clarity.
  • Bring cohesion across seasonal story arcs, campaign moments, and sermon/message series, so the church audience(s) experiences one unified visual language.
  • Produce functional design that clearly serves its purpose, whether for engagement, information, marketing, worship environments, or discipleship tools.
  • Contribute to social media execution through visuals, reels, carousels, posts, and related digital assets.
  • Function effectively in daily production tasks and quick turn-around graphics for slides and thumbnails, as well as larger projects, including campaigns, wayfinders, etc.
  • Contribute to seasonal planning by clarifying deliverables, timelines, and creative needs in advance.
  • Evaluate requests to establish production feasibility and address technical challenges.
  • Help foster a team environment marked by collaboration, humility, and creative storytelling in step with the Spirit.
  • Other duties may be assigned as growth requires.

  • Effective collaboration across teams with responses within 1 business day.
  • Creative contribution with Communications team to translate team's strategy into effective creative solutions, from practical concepts to final assets.
  • Steady equipping of teams, for audiences (via coaching, creative storytelling, asset delivery, DNA integration, etc.)
  • Design aligned 100% to disciple-making mission of the church while achieving artistic and marketing purposes.
  • Growth in technical skill set, in learning and application, reviewed semi-annually.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in design.
  • Hands-on technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong typography skills and design sensibility.
  • Photography experience preferred, but not required.
  • Requires weekend availability.
