We invest in our employees with comprehensive benefits—including Blue Cross/Blue Shield health and dental, vision and supplemental insurance options, and the security of participating in the Retirement Systems of Alabama (RSA).

Position Summary:

The Adult Therapist provides high-quality, client-centered mental health services to adult individuals in a clinic-based setting. The ideal candidate is dedicated to improving the emotional well-being and functioning of adults through evidence-based therapeutic practices. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual and/or group therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Ensure services are delivered in a culturally competent and trauma-informed manner.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensure or license-eligibility in the state of practice (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  • Prior experience providing outpatient therapy to adults is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • This is an exempt, full-time position.
  • Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST
  • This position requires in-person work and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
  • This position is based in a clinical outpatient setting and may require prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and interaction with clients in person and/or via telehealth platforms. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Therapists work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that requires flexibility, empathy, and strong crisis intervention skills.
  • The role involves direct client interaction in both individual and group settings, with support from a multidisciplinary team.

Transportation Requirements:

  • Maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license with personal liability insurance.
  • Follow all agency transportation policies, including seatbelt usage, safe cellphone practices, and vehicle documentation.
  • Immediately report any vehicle issues, accidents, or violations to appropriate personnel.

In-Service Training & Continued Education Requirements:
