Job description

Finest City Acoustics, Inc. is seeking a motivated Apprentice Acoustical Ceiling Installer to join our onsite team in San Diego, CA.

Position Summary

Free training will be provided before you begin work.

As an Apprentice Acoustical Ceiling Installer, you will assist in the installation of suspended acoustical ceiling systems and related components while learning industry best practices from experienced installers. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to build a hands-on trade career, develop strong workmanship, and support accurate, clean, and professional jobsite results.

You will work closely with the installation crew to prepare job sites, install materials, and ensure ceilings are aligned, secure, and finished to specification—while following safety procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with layout, measurement, and installation of acoustical ceiling grid systems and ceiling panels under supervision

  • Prepare job sites by staging materials, protecting work areas, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace

  • Support proper suspension, alignment, and fastening of ceiling components to meet job specifications

  • Perform basic cutting, handling, and assembly of materials as directed, ensuring accuracy and consistency

  • Follow jobsite safety guidelines, including use of required personal protective equipment and safe work practices

Required Qualifications
  • Strong willingness to learn and follow direction in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials and work effectively at job sites

  • Comfort working on ladders and in areas that may require overhead or above-ceiling tasks

  • Basic understanding of construction site expectations (punctuality, teamwork, cleanliness, and attention to detail)

  • Reliable transportation and availability to work full-time onsite in San Diego, CA
