Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Tester will ensure the reliability, performance, and usability of modern software applications through both automated and manual testing methods.

This position offers hands-on experience with a variety of testing tools and processes, including automated testing frameworks, bug/issue tracking systems, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be critical to ensuring that all software components meet stringent functional, performance, and security standards before deployment into production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute test cases (automated and manual) for web-based and enterprise applications, ensuring thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to understand requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and embed quality early in the process.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using established processes and tools, ensuring issues are clearly described, reproducible, and prioritized in alignment with business needs.
  • Test front-end frameworks and user interfaces for functionality, usability, accessibility, and cross-browser/cross-device compatibility.
  • Analyze test results and trends to provide clear, actionable feedback and recommendations to developers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in test planning and estimation activities, contributing to test strategies, test plans, and level-of-effort estimates.
  • Contribute to status and scrum meetings, communicating test progress, risks, and issues in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test data, and test execution reports, ensuring traceability to requirements.
  • Leverage scripting and automation frameworks (.NET, Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript) to expand automated test coverage and improve regression testing efficiency.
  • Support CI/CD practices by integrating test suites into pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years in software testing, quality assurance, or related technical roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software quality assurance/testing, including both manual and automated testing.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, such as JIRA for defect/issue tracking and Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience with UI automation tools, including Selenium and Cypress, for web application testing.
  • Experience running queries to validate data, such as using SQL or similar query languages to verify back-end data integrity and business rules.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, such as GitLab or Git, including branching, merging, and code review workflows.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
