How much do full time 3d design engineer jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 24, 2026, the average yearly pay for full time 3d design engineer in the United States is $88,150.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $68,000.00 and $98,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

While most engineering roles do not reach a $500,000 annual salary, some highly specialized or executive-level engineers, such as senior aerospace or petroleum engineers with extensive experience and advanced certifications, can earn this level of compensation. In fields like software engineering, senior roles at major tech companies or those with equity and bonuses may also approach or exceed this salary range.

What engineers make $200,000 a year?

Senior engineers in specialized fields such as software engineering, petroleum engineering, aerospace engineering, and certain roles in data science or machine learning can earn $200,000 or more annually. These positions often require advanced skills, extensive experience, and sometimes advanced certifications or degrees.

What is the difference between Full Time 3D Design Engineer vs CAD Designer?

AspectFull Time 3D Design EngineerCAD Designer
Required CredentialsBachelor's in Engineering or Design, proficiency in 3D modeling softwareAssociate's or Bachelor's in Design, expertise in CAD software
Work EnvironmentEngineering teams, product development, manufacturingDesign studios, engineering firms, manufacturing companies
Industry UsageProduct design, automotive, aerospace, consumer electronicsArchitectural, mechanical, industrial design

Full Time 3D Design Engineers focus on creating detailed 3D models for product development, often working closely with engineering teams. CAD Designers primarily develop 2D drawings and basic 3D models for manufacturing or architectural projects. While both roles require proficiency in CAD software, 3D Design Engineers typically have a stronger engineering background and work on complex designs, whereas CAD Designers focus on detailed drafting and visualization tasks.

How much do 3D modeling engineers make?

Full-time 3D design engineers typically earn a median annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $90,000, depending on experience, industry, and location. Salaries can increase with proficiency in software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Blender, and with specialized skills in rendering or animation.

What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior engineers in specialized fields such as aerospace, petroleum, or software engineering can earn $300,000 or more annually, especially with extensive experience, advanced skills, and leadership roles. High-paying engineering positions often require advanced degrees, certifications, and working in high-demand industries or managerial capacities.
