Job description

Chase Design Group is seeking a full-time Motion Designer to join our LA team. This is a creative position where candidates should have experience designing for a variety of brands and be able to bridge worlds between concept, design, 3D and motion. They are required to have the ability to identify and distill a brand's needs, and convey those needs through graphic design, typography, video, and motion. They must be well versed in both 2D and 3D animation, with a variety of styles and a modern aesthetic, to contribute ideas and concepts in partnership with a diverse team of creatives. We look for team members who uphold our high creative standards with versatility, fresh ideas, and a collaborative spirit. A strong conceptual approach, sharp attention to detail, and flawless execution are essential. Illustration skills are a plus.

Collaborate with the design team to create storyboards in a wide variety of styles 

Contribute to the concept and execution of motion graphics bringing branding, environments, and package designs to life in impactful ways

Experience with Logo Animation, End Cards, Brand Sizzles, Social Media and Online Video

Effectively plan executional approaches to each project 

Execute quickly and effectively 

Efficiently manage challenges and solve design problems through proactive problem solving 

Manage time and consistently meet deadlines 

Consistently drive excellence in design across all projects

Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent creative thinking and design capabilities, including typography, color, graphic development
  • 3D modeling expertise 
  • 2D & 3D animation expertise 
  • Principles of lighting, textures and materials 
  • Storyboarding 
  • Video editing and post-production 
  • Illustration is a plus
  • BA or equivalent in Motion Design, Animation, or a related design discipline 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines simultaneously with accuracy and excellence 
  • Ability to work in teams, build files cleanly and share files seamlessly.
  • 3-5 years working with branding, design or motion agencies.

  • Proficiency in the following programs required:
  • Cinema 4D (including modeling and animation features) 
  • Redshift 
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Creative Suite Overall, Illustrator and Photoshop
