Job Description

Responsibilities:
* Create RESTful web services using Java
* Recommend, justify, and implement major changes to the web application architecture
* Provide technical leadership and expertise during the development/implementation phase
* Write code in Java, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS that meets the functional specifications
* Collaborate with UI Designer to prototype the user experience during the design phase
* Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in the web application
* Propose and evaluate changes to the deployment architecture to improve performance, scalability, and/or manageability
Qualifications:
Expert programmer in Java
Thorough understanding of Java EE architecture, with a focus on EJBs, JPA, and JAX-RS web services
Experience writing RESTful web services
Have worked within a microservices architecture
Ability to communicate technical design concepts to business and technical stakeholders
Operate at the leading edge of technology
Front-end web development experience with HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3 is desirable
Understanding of AJAX, object-oriented JavaScript, the DOM and JSON
Experience with virtualization technologies like Oracle VM and VMWare
Have spent time as part of an agile development team (preferably Scrum)
7+ years of industry experience
BS/MS in computer science or related field
