Job Description:
Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do - but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here - we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
Job Summary:

This role also plays a key part in supporting Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) initiatives to help maintain and enhance product quality and performance.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both independent and team-based work, is eager to grow technically, and wants to make a direct impact by helping deliver reliable, high-quality products to our customers.
What You Will Do:

  • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to simulate structural behavior and optimize designs for reliability and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with ANSYS, Abaqus, or Creo Simulate for structural and thermal analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA to proactively identify and mitigate potential design risks.

Product Design - MFG:
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers to improve design for manufacturability (DFM) for hose coupling components.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and quality, to align design solutions with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Understanding of DFMA principles to reduce complexity, cost, and improve production efficiency.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, forming, assembly, and joining methods commonly used in fluid system components.

Product Design and Development:
  • Develops creative and effective design solutions that meet functional requirements of hose coupling systems.
  • Conducts material selection and analysis to ensure performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness under various operating conditions.
