Job Description

  • Accurately determine the Harmonized System (HS) Code for our product portfolio and assign relevant EZT, TARIC (Europe), TARES (Switzerland), and UK Global Tariff classifications
  • Responsible for the technical classification of goods according to German, EU, and US customs and export control laws
  • Analyze technical product specifications to determine appropriate customs classification
  • Monitor changes in trade laws, including updates to HS Codes and TARIC, and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Continuously monitor updates to export control regulations, sanctions, and embargoes in Germany, the EU, and globally, and ensure internal processes are updated accordingly .
  • Support audits and investigations related to customs classifications
  • Developing and optimizing classification processes and coordinating with authorities and external service providers

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or a technical vocational training with several years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Strong technical understanding, including the ability to read technical drawings and documentation
  • Experience with ECCN classification
  • Experience with customs practice in EU, including identification of issues related to classification
  • Excellent knowledge of customs tariff classification, including direct experience with classifying products under Harmonized Tariff System
  • Strong Analytical and technical mindset
  • Knowledge of customs and foreign trade is a plus
  • Fluency in English, German is a plus
