We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Senior Full-Stack Software Developer based in Toronto, who will play a role in the future of business innovation through in-house-built solutions. The individual will have the opportunity to gain meaningful exposure to the industry, allowing for a deeper understanding of how hedge funds function and evolve. Equipping the individual with insights to help contribute to innovative in-house solutions.


What will you do?

  • Design, build, and enhance our industry-leading platforms - you will work with a team of experienced Developers and Quantitative analysts on our next generation Trading & P&L platforms, and critical operational infrastructure that are used by internal teams: Trading, Risk, Compliance, Business Development, Operations, and Finance.
  • Focus on treasury, trading & new product onboarding -
    you'll have the opportunity to support business growth by facilitating new product onboarding and enhancing system scalability and flexibility. Our software's data and calculations provide the foundation for our portfolio managers to generate profits and run their business.
  • Collaborate with your peers - you will have the opportunity to work alongside Portfolio Managers and Investment Teams to improve Trading & Operational software. You will be involved in several new greenfield initiatives within the firm and engage closely with colleagues and internal stakeholders, incorporating continuous feedback to refine solutions. Additionally, you will benefit from coaching, mentorship, and professional development offered by Senior Developers and others in the organization.

Who are you?


  • You are passionate about coding and problem solving - you have hands on experience with C#, .NET, C++, Java, or any other object-oriented language. You have a good understanding of design patterns and modern user interface paradigms (MVC, MVVM), and experience with parallel and asynchronous programming. You have full-stack experience, having developed a variety of front-ends and backends. Experience building powerful/rich applications that run on desktops are preferred (e.g. WPF or Blazor) as well as using a messaging bus like RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Compensation: Polar's total compensation package includes base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. In accordance with Ontario's Employment Standards Act, 2000, the estimated base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000. The actual base salary pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, the individual's experience level, the qualifications they bring to the role, business needs, and market demands.
