What is a full stack JavaScript developer?

A Full Stack JavaScript Developer is a software engineer skilled in using JavaScript for both front-end and back-end development. They work with frameworks like React or Angular for the user interface and Node.js or Express.js for server-side programming. These developers are responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining web applications, ensuring seamless functionality from the client-side to the server-side. Their expertise allows them to handle databases, APIs, and the integration between different layers of a web application.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full stack JavaScript developer?

To thrive as a Full Stack JavaScript Developer, you need solid proficiency in JavaScript, front-end frameworks like React or Angular, back-end technologies such as Node.js, and a strong understanding of databases, typically supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience. Additionally, debugging issues that span the entire tech stack and ensuring consistent performance across client and server components are frequent hurdles. Overcoming these challenges typically involves continuous learning, effective collaboration, and adopting best practices in code organization and testing.
