What types of projects and technologies can I expect to work with during a full stack internship?

As a Full Stack Intern, you'll typically be involved in both front-end and back-end development tasks, often contributing to real-world projects such as website features, web applications, or internal tools. You can expect to work with modern frameworks like React or Angular for the front end and Node.js, Python, or Java for the back end, along with databases like MongoDB or PostgreSQL. Interns often collaborate closely with senior developers and participate in code reviews, agile sprints, and team meetings, gaining practical experience across the software development lifecycle. This hands-on exposure is designed to develop your technical skills and prepare you for a future full-time role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full stack intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Stack Intern, you need foundational knowledge of front-end and back-end development, proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and at least one backend language, often demonstrated through coursework or projects. Familiarity with frameworks like React or Angular, databases such as MySQL or MongoDB, and version control systems like Git is typically expected. Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and effective communication help interns excel in team-based, fast-paced environments. We have achieved consistent and profitable growth with our annual revenue consistently hitting over $2 billion dollars. We now have over 4,500 employees and operate in 20 countries around the world. Melaleuca is positioned to grow even more rapidly in upcoming years. To help keep up with this growth we are looking for outstanding individuals to be part of our Software Development Group.

Program Dates:

Winter: January though April

This is an exciting opportunity to learn how Automation Testing helps enterprise organizations design, develop, and deliver quality software!  You will work with talented team members who want to share their experiences, provide mentorship, and actively participate in improving automation at Melaleuca. You will work in a fast paced environment and gain experience about how enterprise platforms are built.  You will contribute as part of a full-stack development team that does it all: front-end, back-end, database, DevOps, and test automation and work with the latest tools and technologies in the .NET ecosystem: Azure DevOps, C#, and .NET Core (including ASP).

  • Automate client and server-side applications, testing mobile and web platforms
  • Learn, maintain, design, create, improve:

  • Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and tools
  • Automated UI and API test suites
  • Databases
  • Participate in developing solutions to problems
  • Plan and implement work under the guidance of a mentor
  • Work closely with the development manager to meet assigned development goals

  • Preference given to students currently in their junior or senior year of college, pursuing a degree in related field
  • Able to work in Idaho Falls, Idaho for your program dates of approximately 90 days
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher
  • Passion for learning automation testing and CI/CD
  • Knowledge of object-oriented development
  • Knowledge of C#, ASP.NET or Microsoft SQL preferred
  • Familiarity with Cypress is a plus

Melaleuca is one of the leading Health and Wellness companies in the world. We manufacture and distribute nutritional, pharmaceutical, personal care, facial care, home hygiene, and other wellness products and distribute them directly to the consumer through a full-service catalog and Internet shopping system. We carefully craft products used every day with the highest standards of safety, health, and wellness in mind.

This revolutionary system is changing the way hundreds of thousands of people shop by eliminating middlemen and reducing marketing and distribution costs. This enables the company to spend more on research and high-quality, ecologically-sensible ingredients, while maintaining reasonable prices.

Great culture - flexibility is a must in this position; you'll become a part of a fast-paced team dedicated to a feel-good lifestyle brand dedicated to changing lives. Like the rest of Melaleuca, we are proud to be part of a values-driven organization that treats employees with respect. Our employees and their families enjoy company parties and countless discounts around the community. We implement a very real open-door policy, and all employees are on a first name basis—it feels more like a family than a multi-national corporation.

Safe, uncrowded, affordable - nestled in the heart of beautiful Eastern Idaho, Idaho Falls is a prosperous and vibrant community, as well as the gateway to recreational paradise. This unique setting provides numerous opportunities for total wellness -- social, physical, financial, and emotional. If you love outdoor activities, this is the place for you, with the Snake River running right through town, the Rocky Mountains dominating the horizon, and Yellowstone less than a 2-hour drive away.

Excellent compensation - in addition to a competitive wage, we offer comprehensive benefits for our full-time employees that include all you would expect plus some remarkable surprises, such as a longevity bonus. Right here on-site, we provide a fitness center, free concierge service, and an employee restaurant.
