Job description

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. We are a proud member of the Pacific Coast Building Products Family of Companies.

Salary Range:$18.61-$19.61/ HR DOE 

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Superintendent and/or Shift Supervisor, this position supports the Production Department in all areas of manufacturing.  This position is responsible for the correct function of the equipment; hand stacks boards or stakes and moves to inventory areas; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Packages different types of products
  • Checks for defects on the equipment
  • Stacks boards by hand and transfers them to the inventory yard.
  • Assists machine operator as needed.
  • Must always display team player attitude
  • Communicates and reports any issues to the supervisor.
  • Checks boards for defects or contamination.
  • Continuously checks for quality.
  • Identifies poor quality.
  • Maintains a clean work area
  • Operates forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with peers and management.
  • Able to read the tape measure.
  • Ability to operate forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
