They work under the guidance of experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience with programming languages, frameworks, and tools used throughout the software development lifecycle. Their responsibilities often include writing code, testing applications, fixing bugs, and collaborating with teams to deliver functional software. Through this internship, they develop practical skills and a deeper understanding of how web systems work end-to-end.

Job description

About Parabolic Surf

Parabolic Surf is a proprietary crypto trading firm. We build in-house software to execute strategies across global digital asset exchanges. We operate as a small team where software engineering directly drives our operations and competitive edge.

The Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Mobile Engineer to maintain our mobile footprint and build internal tooling.

In this role, you will take ownership of two core mobile applications: a voice-driven conversational AI application, and an event-driven news platform that enables real-time tracking and user alerts. Beyond mobile, you will design and build internal full-stack web applications, construct Python data pipelines, and execute ad-hoc tooling projects.

We need a self-directed developer who thrives on taking vague ideas, scoping practical solutions, and shipping functional MVPs quickly. We leverage modern AI development tools daily to accelerate workflows and expect you to do the same.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mobile Ownership: Maintain, enhance, and deploy features for our two primary iOS/Android applications.
  • Internal Web Tooling: Build and deploy custom, end-to-end web tools and dashboards to support operations.
  • Automation & Pipelines: Write Python scripts and backend services to automate internal operations, data flows, and processes.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Scrape, prototype, and build small to medium sized utility apps and internal features as new operational needs arise.
Requirements
  • Mobile Experience: Proven track record of building and maintaining production mobile applications on iOS and Android with React Native.
  • Python Skills: Strong experience with Python scripting, automation, data handling, and backend services.
  • Full Stack Capabilities: Proficiency building clean frontends in React and backend services in Python with FastAPI.
  • Self-Direction: Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous requirements into scoped, working software independently.
  • AI Tool Proficiency: Active experience using AI coding assistants and workflows to write, debug, test, and document code efficiently.

Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Railway

Compensation & Logistics
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience and location.
  • Time Zone Overlap: Must overlap at least 4 hours between 10:00am–7:00pm AST for team collaboration.
