Job description

Role: JAVA FULL STACK DEVELOPER

Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid (Locals only)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experiencedย Java Full Stack Developerย with deep expertise inย Asset and Wealth Managementย to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full stack solutions that power digital investment platforms, client onboarding, portfolio management, and other core wealth management functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable and secure backend services usingย Java (8/11/17), Spring Boot, andย Microservices architecture.
  • Build responsive and intuitive front-end interfaces usingย Angular,ย React, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements in theย Asset & Wealth Managementย domain (e.g., investment portfolios, trade execution, client reporting).
  • Implementย RESTful APIsย to integrate internal systems and third-party services (e.g., custodians, trading platforms, KYC/AML providers).
  • Collaborate with DevOps forย CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and security for high-availability financial platforms.
  • Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Write unit, integration, and automation tests to ensure code quality.
  • Ensure compliance withย financial regulatory requirementsย (e.g., GDPR, MiFID II, FINRA) and internal governance policies.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience as aย Java Full Stack Developer.
  • Strong knowledge ofย Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with front-end technologies likeย Angular (2+), React.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript.
  • Experience withย Asset and Wealth Managementย platforms (e.g., portfolio management systems, client onboarding, advisor dashboards).
  • Proficiency inย SQL/NoSQLย databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience withย Cloud platformsย (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity withย financial instrumentsย (mutual funds, ETFs, bonds, equities) andย investment workflows.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience withย financial services standards and protocolsย (FIX, SWIFT, etc.).
  • Exposure toย data visualization toolsย (e.g., D3.js, Highcharts) for portfolio performance.
  • Knowledge ofย data privacy regulationsย and security in financial services.

Certification inย AWS,ย Oracle, orย CFA Investment Foundationsย is a plus.
