As a Lead Software Engineer - Connected Room you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. In the Connected Room team, reporting to the Senior Lead Solutions Architect Connected Room, you will support projects involving smartphone capabilities like Hilton Connected Room, which allow for integrated entertainment, temperature, and lighting controls. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day will be like:

  • Develop complex PHP applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or similar frameworks).
  • Develop UI on React. Write clean, reusable, and efficient React code.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop backend features and APIs
  • Ensure consistency to coding standards/procedures and participate in code reviews
  • Ensure that all solution development is aligned to architectural standards throughout the Agile development process
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of web applications
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple technology stacks in use to code/configure quality solutions that require limited rework and meet business / end-user needs by adhering to the standard methodologies

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Work together with the Product, Business, QA, Support team and external partners during daily scrum and schedule meetings.

What you will take ownership of:

  • Migrate the current platform to the React framework.
  • Manage current PHP projects involves best practices in technical implementation, and ongoing maintenance.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Four (4) years of work experience in PHP development, including expertise in one or more PHP frameworks
  • Two (2) years of development experience in the React.js JavaScript framework
  • Four (4) years of experience with relational databases like MySQL or similar
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, or other cloud technologies
  • This is a hybrid role and requires being near our Memphis office location
  • Travel up to 10%

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 7+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
  • Seven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Six (6) + years of work experience in PHP development, including expertise in one or more PHP framework
  • Six (6) + years of work experience in React.js JavaScript framework development
  • Six (6) + years of experience with relational databases like MySQL or similar
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with front-end build tools and bundlers
  • Hospitality domain experience
