Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Java Full Stack Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, MongoDB, and Angular. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend and frontend development, RESTful APIs, cloud-native applications, and modern software engineering practices.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX is $105k - $115k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build and integrate scalable microservices-based applications.
  • Develop secure and high-performance RESTful APIs.
  • Design and manage data models and queries using MongoDB.
  • Develop responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, logging, exception handling, and application security.
  • Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
  • Perform unit, integration, and functional testing.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and production support.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support ongoing application enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in full-stack software development using Java.
  • Strong knowledge of Java 8 or higher, object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, and exception handling.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, service discovery, API gateways, and inter-service communication.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Practical experience with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, aggregation, and performance optimization.
  • Strong experience with Angular and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, responsive design, and frontend development practices.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, or Karma.
  • Familiarity with Git and source control management.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
  • Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, OpenAPI/Swagger, and application security best practices.
  • Experience working in a distributed or enterprise application environment.
