Placement Type:
Temporary
Salary:
$81-90 Hourly
Partner with Aquent to join a world-renowned leader known for groundbreaking innovation and a commitment to excellence. This organization is at the forefront of shaping how people interact with technology, creating intuitive and powerful experiences that touch millions globally. As a pivotal member of this team, you will drive efficiency and innovation, making a tangible impact on critical business operations and empowering teams with powerful, intuitive data tools.
About the Opportunity
Are you ready to design and develop cutting-edge, end-to-end data applications that will redefine how critical business operations function? This exceptional opportunity invites you to build interactive frontends, robust middleware services, and scalable data-serving APIs. You will play a unique role in automating manual processes, significantly increasing efficiency for a central function, and making complex data products accessible to a wide audience. Operating with high autonomy, you will drive features from conception to delivery within a fast-paced, two-week sprint cycle, collaborating across product and analytics teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Your Impact and Contributions
This role offers a dynamic blend of hands-on engineering and strategic technical leadership, with a 70/30 split between delivering code and shaping architectural direction. You will be instrumental in bridging critical team skill gaps, setting best practices, and defining design patterns for our data application ecosystem. Your work will directly enhance operational efficiency and empower teams with powerful, intuitive data tools.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop end-to-end data applications, encompassing interactive frontends, middleware services, and data-serving APIs.
  • Lead development efforts on client-facing and middle layers, utilizing React and Node.js.
  • Develop robust API layers using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Design and implement relational database schemas, primarily with PostgreSQL.
  • Deploy applications on cloud services, leveraging infrastructure as code principles.
  • Operate with high autonomy, independently researching, executing, and delivering features within a two-week sprint cycle.
  • Collaborate effectively with product and analytics teams to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Provide technical solutions architecture, including setting technical direction, enforcing best practices, and defining design patterns.
  • Automate manual processes to significantly increase the overall efficiency of a central function.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Extensive Hands-On Experience: You are deeply "in the weeds" of software delivery, with a comprehensive understanding of every layer of the web stack. This is a hands-on role; pure solutions or technical architects will not be considered.
  • Core Technical Stack:
    • Strong frontend engineering experience building production-grade web applications with React.
    • Experience developing middleware and backend services with Node.js.
    • Proficiency with Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
    • Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases (experience with NoSQL or graph databases is not relevant for this role).
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with deploying applications on cloud services and managing infrastructure via infrastructure as code tools.
  • High Autonomy & Drive: Proven ability to act as a self-starter. You excel at independent research, leveraging available tools, and driving features to completion without needing heavy hand-holding or explicit day-to-day directions.
  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and independently solve complex technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building applications for marketing functions or working within digital ad agencies / tech marketing groups.

Onboarding & Workflow
  • Sprint Structure: We operate on two-week sprints. You will commit to specific backlogs, independently execute, and deliver during the sprint exit.
  • Phase-Wise Onboarding: The first two weeks focus on system familiarity through knowledge-sharing sessions, self-exploration, and executing a small, narrowly scoped initial backlog (e.g., adding a dialog box to critical actions) to learn our design patterns and system architecture.

Interview Requirements
  • The process consists of an initial experience alignment call, followed by a technical round (coding and high-level architecture discussion). The final round requires an in-person interview.
