Job description

Join a collaborative engineering team building systems that power product data ingestion, management, and publishing for eCommerce and enterprise use. This full stack role offers the opportunity to work in an agile, pairing-focused environment where test-driven development and continuous delivery are part of the daily workflow.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable services that support high-volume product data workflows
  • Develop and enhance backend functionality using Python, Groovy, Java, Spring, and related technologies
  • Contribute to small UI updates and features using ReactJS or other modern JavaScript frameworks as needed
  • Participate in all-day pair programming across coding, analysis, meetings, and documentation
  • Work in an acceptance test-driven and test-driven development environment
  • Support REST-based services and data handling using formats such as JSON and XML
  • Collaborate with teammates to refactor code, review solutions, and deliver working software consistently
  • Help troubleshoot and improve systems, processes, and deployments
Skills
  • Hands-on experience with full stack development in a service-oriented environment
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Groovy, Java, Spring, and CockroachDB
  • Solid understanding of REST, HTTP, JSON, and XML
  • Experience with TDD, pair programming, and agile development practices
  • Ability to communicate clearly, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively
  • Comfort working with open source tools and modern development workflows such as GitHub and GitHub Actions
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CI/CD, deployment, and configuration management tools
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and proactively identify solutions
  • Exposure to ReactJS or other JavaScript frameworks
  • Scripting and automation skills in shell and at least one language such as Ruby, Perl, or Python
  • Familiarity with infrastructure concepts such as networks, security, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment
