What is a full stack developer Reactjs?

A Full Stack Developer Reactjs is a software professional skilled in both front-end and back-end development, with expertise in using React.js for building dynamic user interfaces. They are capable of designing, developing, and maintaining entire web applications, handling everything from the user experience to server-side logic and databases. These developers typically work with technologies like JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Express, and various databases such as MongoDB or MySQL. Their role often includes collaborating with designers and other developers to deliver seamless, scalable applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full stack developer Reactjs, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Stack Developer Reactjs, you need solid proficiency in JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, and familiarity with both front-end and back-end development concepts, usually supported by a degree in computer science or relevant experience. Experience with databases (like MongoDB or SQL), RESTful APIs, version control systems (such as Git), and possibly cloud platforms is often required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills help developers collaborate effectively and adapt to evolving project needs. These competencies ensure seamless delivery of robust, scalable applications and foster efficient cross-functional collaboration.

What are some common challenges full stack developers face when working with React.js in a cross-functional team?

Full Stack Developers working with React.js often encounter challenges such as aligning front-end and back-end development timelines, managing state consistently across complex applications, and ensuring seamless integration with APIs and databases. Collaboration with UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and other developers requires clear communication, especially when translating design requirements into interactive, performant interfaces. Adapting to frequent updates in the React ecosystem and maintaining code quality across the stack are also key aspects to stay on top of in a dynamic team environment.

Computer Technologies Consultants (CTC) is a leading technology company providing various IT and data analytics services. They are seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to support the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) in Washington, DC, focusing on application development, collaboration, cloud deployment, and maintaining high-quality standards in software delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements across front-end (ReactJS) and back-end (Python/FastAPI) layers of Agency applications.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI, ensuring proper validation, error handling, versioning, and documentation (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger).

• Implement and manage data models, queries, migrations, and stored procedures within PostgreSQL databases, with attention to performance and data integrity.

• Adhere to Agency's branching, commit, and merge standards, including the use of short-lived feature branches and feature flags where applicable.
• Package applications/services using Docker, maintaining clean/reproducible container images.
• Support deployment of containerized workloads to AWS environments (e.g., ECS, EKS, or equivalent managed services), working within existing cloud infrastructure patterns.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of AWS services relevant to application hosting and operation, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC networking concepts.
• Collaborate with Agency infrastructure staff on environment configuration, secrets management, and cloud resource usage.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application defects, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities across all layers of the stack.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, refactoring code to improve maintainability, readability, and test coverage.
• Monitor application behavior and logs (e.g., via AWS CloudWatch or equivalent) and respond to operational issues as needed.
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests for both back-end (pytest or equivalent) and front-end (Jest, React Testing Library, or equivalent) code.
• Ensure new features and bug fixes have appropriate test coverage prior to merge.
• Participate in functional and user acceptance testing in coordination with Agency stakeholders.
• Maintain technical documentation for all developed systems, including API documentation, data model diagrams, architecture decision records, and developer setup guides.
• Document operational procedures, environment configurations, and known issues in Agency's designated knowledge management platform.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5 years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in: Python, FastAPI, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
• Possess sufficient familiarity with AWS cloud services to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications in cloud-hosted environments.
