Job Description

As a member of the Tachyon Custom Development COE team, the Full Stack Developer will be responsible for developing applications that touch multiple areas of AbbVie’s business. We are looking for a motivated developer who has a passion for software development and is willing to take on new challenges. The Full Stack Developer will need experience in full-stack software development and have a background in building web applications on cloud infrastructure. This role will be building business-critical solutions using technical expertise rapidly and iteratively in software development, data visualization, and data warehousing. Being able to interpret business requirements and bring intuitive, user-friendly solutions is a core ability for this position. The Full Stack Developer will be part of a small team of highly motivated developers and will be responsible for delivering multiple software solutions year over year. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results. 
  • Analyze and critique results, noting significant variances or deviations. 
  • Troubleshoot algorithms, protocols, and software programs. 
  • Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required, to suit the changing needs of our business. 
  • Learn and understand new methods and technologies. 
  • Obtain estimates/quotes from vendors and provide as input into overall project time and cost estimates. 
  • Produce and maintain required technical documentation associated with work product.  
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle. 
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years’ experience; or Master’s Degree with 0 years’ experience
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out the job functions
  • Ability to multitask and work within timelines
  • Familiarity or experience in JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, and/or Vue 
  • Familiarity or experience in Server-side languages such as Python, NodeJS, Java, and/or .Net 
  • Familiarity or experience in Database technology such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, Neo4J, and/or MarkLogic.
  • Familiarity or experience in Fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred:

  • Mobile development experience preferred
  • 6 years of IT-related work experience preferred
