Full Stack Engineer with AI and CMS/AEM

Minneapolis, MN

6+ months contract

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Engineer with experience in building modern, cloud-native applications and a strong interest in Agentic AI and AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC). This role involves designing and developing scalable, secure, high-performance web applications and microservices on Microsoft Azure, while leveraging AI-assisted and agent-based development patterns to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and enable intelligent user experiences. Candidates with data engineering or AI platform exposure will have opportunities to contribute to data-driven initiatives, intelligent automation, and performance optimization.

Core Responsibilities

  • System Ownership: Design, scale, and maintain cloud-native microservices and robust system architectures on Microsoft Azure.
  • API Excellence: Architect secure, resilient, high-performance APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Reactive, and WebFlux.
  • UI Leadership: Direct front-end strategies to deliver responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Tech Debt & Quality: Set engineering standards, champion code reviews, and ensure DevSecOps KPIs are exceeded while actively paying down tech debt.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, UX designers, and enterprise architects to translate complex business needs into technical reality.
  • AIDLC Enablement: Maximize the use of the teamโ€™s AI development productivity, refactoring, and test coverage.
  • Intelligent Features: Design and integrate AI-powered workflows, automated reasoning, and intelligent agent-based features into customer-facing applications.
  • Future Proofing: Collaborate with platform teams to evaluate, benchmark, and adopt cutting-edge, emerging AI tools.
  • CI/CD & Infrastructure: Oversee automated deployment pipelines, containerization strategy, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Observability: Drive production reliability, monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting using tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, running design reviews, and mentoring junior/mid-level developers.
  • Back-End Mastery: 7+ years of software development experience, including 6+ years specializing in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Reactive, and WebFlux.
  • Front-End Expertise: 6+ years of front-end experience utilizing JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
  • API & Integration: 5+ years building high-throughput RESTful and SOAP web services.
  • Stack Depth: Proven experience with Node.js, asynchronous programming, ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA), and databases (MySQL, Cassandra).
  • Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on expertise building and deploying infrastructure on Microsoft Azure (AWS is a plus).
  • Experience with any Enterprise CMS platform (AEM preferred)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data pipelines using Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
  • Healthcare or commercial software development experience.
  • Experience in application modernization or re-engineering.
