As a Contract Specialist, you will support the Contracts & Commercial function by ensuring contractual obligations are met and documented accurately. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders and interface directly with the Customer to manage contract execution, amendments, and change proposals.   • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline-or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in contract management or administration.
  • Solid understanding of complex contracting environments, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or defense.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding and government/defense contracts is a strong asset.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.

  • Support the development and implementation of contract management processes.
  • Create presentation materials to facilitate stakeholder engagement and alignment.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the contract change proposal process.
  • Prepare and manage Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), Subcontractor Change Order Proposals (COPs), and related documentation through to final customer approval.
  • Draft and finalize Task Amendments, Contract Amendments, and Agreements in Principle.
  • Monitor and track contract values, task authorizations, and change impacts.
  • Collaborate with the Customer to obtain necessary approvals under the Prime Contract.
  • Contribute to Monthly Progress Reports and Progress Review Meetings.
  • Maintain a commercial action log and foster strong working relationships with the Customer.
