The Role

We'relooking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Data Lake Access team at NasdaqVerafin.Reporting to the Director - Software Development, this team builds andoperatesthe unified data access platform at the heart of Nasdaq Verafin's AWS-powered workspace for data and ML workloads. We own the full stack of data access: identity federation,fine-grained permissions, data catalog integration, networking, and infrastructure-enabling developers across the organization to securely discover and query data without managing each AWS service individually.

In this roleyou willhelp build andmaintainthe cloud infrastructure that enables secure, unified access to data across Nasdaq.You willwork withcutting-edge AWS technologies, design robust access patterns, and create automationthat supports data governance at scale. We work directly with AWS engineering teams, security, networking, and architects to push the boundaries of what the platform can do.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement Terraform infrastructure for AWS data access services - IAM roles, Lake Formation grants, Glue catalogs, KMS, S3, and RDS connectivity.

  • Build andmaintainfederated data catalog integrations (Athena connectors, Glue catalog federation, Lake Formation permissions at scale.)

  • Solve complex networking challenges using technologies such as VPC Endpoints,PrivateLink, VPC Lattice, Cloud WAN, and Security Groups.

  • Own and improve the security posture of our platform through IAM design, Service Control Policies (SCPs), Identity Center integrations, and data perimeter controls.

  • Build automation that streamlines access provisioning and improves the developer experience.

  • DrivePOC onboarding of enterprise customers, including banks and financial institutions, onto our platform.

  • Engage directly with AWS on platform gaps, escalations, and roadmap feedbackto solve platform challenges and influence future capabilities.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+years of software/platform engineering experience with a strongfocus ondesigning and building solutions in AWS.

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform,includingModule development, State management, Reusable infrastructure patterns, and Complex resource dependencies.

  • Strong understanding of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), including roles, policies, trust relationships, and permission boundaries.

  • Experience building and supporting cloud networking solutions using VPCs, Security Groups, VPC Endpoints, and private connectivity patterns.

  • Proficiencyin at least one backend programming language (Python or Java) with experience building production services.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and security issues and drive solutions independently - thinking about what could gowrong beforeit does.

  • Ability to engage directly with AWS support and engineering teams and translate technical findings into clear written communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AWS Lake Formation and fine-grained data access controls.

  • Familiarity with AWS Glue Data Catalog and federated catalog architectures.

  • Experience with IAM Identity Center (AWS SSO) and identity federation.

  • Knowledge of EMR Serverless, SageMaker, or large-scale data platforms
