WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary on-site point of contact for all health, safety, and environmental matters within the RPL Data Center, providing expert guidance and support to employees, contractors, and leadership teams.

  • Collaborate closely with the client's Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) teams to ensure full alignment with corporate safety standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while supporting the implementation of site-specific safety initiatives.

  • Attend, contribute to, and support safety meetings, operational reviews, project planning sessions, and leadership discussions, ensuring safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of data center operations.

  • Lead the reporting, investigation, documentation, and follow-up of safety incidents, near misses, hazards, and non-conformances, identifying root causes and driving corrective and preventive actions to completion.

  • Foster and maintain a proactive safety culture by promoting employee engagement, encouraging hazard reporting, and delivering safety awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and training programs across the site.

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities to ensure potential risks are identified, evaluated, and effectively mitigated before incidents occur.

  • Manage the site's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program, including inventory control, distribution, inspection, replenishment, and compliance monitoring to ensure personnel have access to appropriate safety equipment at all times.

  • Monitor compliance with company safety policies, industry best practices, site-specific safety programs, and applicable legislative and regulatory requirements, taking action to address any identified gaps.

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate safety performance metrics, KPI dashboards, trend analyses, and compliance reports, providing regular updates and recommendations to site leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including participation in drills, emergency planning, evacuation procedures, and incident response coordination to ensure operational readiness.

  • Partner with operational, engineering, facilities, and contractor teams to integrate safety requirements into day-to-day activities, maintenance programs, and project execution.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analysing safety performance data, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and implementing programs that reduce risk and improve overall workplace safety outcomes.

Objective

To ensure a safe, compliant, and risk-aware working environment within the RPL Data Center by promoting best-in-class safety practices, supporting operational excellence, driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance, and maintaining full compliance with the client's EH&S standards, data center safety requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations.
